Thomas Golacinski – Government Contracts and Account Manager

I am originally a native of Holbrook, Pennsylvania, who found my Tennessee home, after a brief 11+ year enlistment in the United States Air Force. I joined the TEVET team in July of 2018 as the Government Contracts and Account Manager.

I joined the Air Force after a short stint at Waynesburg University in 2005. I started my career in Security Forces and later, found my way to becoming a Military Working Dog Handler. From there, I rose quickly through the ranks becoming a Military Working Dog Trainer, then Kennel Master, then Instructor, to ultimately running 1 of 2 Military Working Dog Pre-Deployment Training Centers in the Air Force. Unfortunately, my career was cut short due to illnesses and injuries received during two combat deployments to Afghanistan. However, prior to my separation, I took over duties as my Squadron’s Resource Advisor. This position taught me about defense budgeting, accounting, and acquisitions, specifically contracted procurements, as the training center had a very sizeable budget by career field standards.

After separating from the Air Force, I took a position with the United States Marshals Services as a Financial Specialist. My main priorities in this position were government accounting and acquisitions. I was chosen for this position specifically for my skills and experience in government acquisitions. During my tenure, I was responsible for a large percentage of the District’s acquisition and service contracts. This time with the Marshals Service further refined my skills in these areas and increased my knowledge in government contracting and procurement. These skills allow me the ability to directly assist our government customers with their procurement needs and requirements.

Along the way, I received several degrees to include an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor of Arts in Homeland Security from American Military University, a Master of Professional Studies in International Studies in Homeland Security from Penn State, and most recently, I completed more than half of a Doctorate in Business Administration from Northcentral University before changing programs and fields of study. Currently, I am enrolled in the Master in the Studies of Law in American and Transnational Law with a concentration in Government Contracting and Procurement from the University of Dayton, which I will complete in Summer 2019.
